What will you learn?

In an era where incidents of hate and harassment are increasingly visible, the need for allyship has never been more important. We all have a responsibility to do something when we see hate and harassment happening, but we hear from masculine-identifying folks that often, they don’t get involved because they don’t want to make things worse, don’t think it’s their problem or even a problem in general, and when they do intervene- they think Direct intervention is the only way to show up. This can lead to escalating the situation and not centering the person experiencing the harassment.

This interactive training is a down-to-earth approach designed to address some of the concerns masculine-identifying folks may have when intervening while also talking through how to harness their privilege to safely and effectively take action in situations of hate and harassment. Drawing from Right To Be’s renowned 5Ds of Bystander Intervention, and through recognition of how traditional roles and power dynamics show up in public spaces, this training equips participants with practical skills on how masculine-identifying folks can leverage that privilege for positive change with the confidence needed to become proactive, and effective allies.
